The monument was erected by grateful inhabitants of the city who knew this woman. From the 1950s until his death in 1988, the woman was selling ice cream, and it was possible to meet her even on cold winter days, bad weather and holidays. The woman always deliberately treated her work, and therefore the locals with the help of the city authorities collected money to establish a monument to her.
The work on the sculpture was helped by the unique pictures taken in the mid-1980s. In the archive of Andrey Ilyinsky, in those years of the novice photographer, they were saved completely by chance. Monument to the legendary ice-cream vendor some called a monument to the Soviet era.
