A secret project of the USSR «Great Northern Railway» will be restored and modernized. The once-secret Soviet railway project, initiated by Stalin himself and called «Building 51» will connect the Chukotka from the Barents Sea.
The polar line was conceived back in 1928, but its construction began only 20 years later, after World War II. In the world of mature confrontation between the two mighty powers, and Stalin was very concerned about the possible landing of enemy landing on the northern coast of Russia.
